What Is Reconciliation?
  • An ongoing, spiritual process involving forgiveness, repentance and justice that restores broken relationships and broken systems to reflect God’s original intention for all creation to flourish.” Rev. Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, Roadmap to Reconciliation

  • Reconciling our hearts, minds and actions to value and treat all people as God desires and to work in society toward that end.

  • Not “forgive and forget” but “remember and change” toward equity for all.

Strategy
  • Partner with UMC and WNCC Justice and Reconciliation Team, remaining grounded in the UMC Book of Discipline and Book of Resolutions

  • Build on existing programs and ministries of Centenary where possible

  • Provide learning experiences for church and community members

  • Engage with other groups, institutions and churches locally, regionally and nationally which have similar concerns

  • Establish relationships with decision and policy makers

Strategic Plan
  • Design and implement a variety of programs to meet common goals of the church and the needs of the community

  • Include specific areas to address relief, development and empowerment

  • Establish a timeline with objectives for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years
