This Month's Mission Opportunities
Loaves and Fishes
Food of the Month: May 2019
Loaves & Fishes offers support and sustenance to our neighbors each Tuesday morning, and your donations help keep our food pantry stocked. For the month of May, we are collecting canned chicken. Please bring your food donations to the Missions bins, located just inside the 4 1⁄2 Street Entrance.

City with Dwellings, the organization we partner with on the winter overflow homeless shelter, is continuing to touch base with overflow guests on Tuesdays and Thursdays in The Haven through their Community First Resource Center. They are there to provide guidance, relationship, and case management to get our neighbors into sustainable housing. You can help! Each Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45 to 11:00 a.m., 4 volunteers are needed to be present with guests in their joys and/or needs. Our Music and the Arts Ministry team has also developed a collaboration with the resource center to bring creativity and arts to our guests. Let Sheila Brame know if you are interested in the arts program.

On the 2nd Friday of each month, Centenary provides 6 overnight volunteers to Samaritan Ministries’ homeless shelter. Volunteers arrive at 6:15 p.m. and help serve dinner to guests, receive an orientation and participate in nightly devotions, socialize with and/or play games with guests, and then take 2-hour shifts in pairs watching the security monitors overnight. Volunteers will get some sleep, help serve breakfast, and be done before 7:30 a.m.
