I'M NEW
Welcome! Wondering what to expect? We want to answer your questions so you will feel as comfortable as possible when you visit Centenary for the first time. If you do not see your question below, feel free to contact Rev. Meg Peters.
What Will We Do?
Centenary United Methodist has traditional, informal, and innovative worship services on Sundays and Wednesdays. One preacher, usually our Senior Minister, The Rev. Dr. P. Glenn Kinken III, preaches at all Sunday Services – only the setting and music varies.
What About My Kids?
All ages are welcome to join in all worship services. More detailed instructions and information about children’s ministry is found in each Sunday’s bulletin and online here.
-
Nursery for Infants – Pre-Kindergarten Children: offered during every Sunday service, second floor of the east building. Staffed by professional childcare workers.
-
Three and Four-Year-Olds: Bible Storytelling Time, 11:00 am in the nursery. Led by children’s ministry staff.
-
Kindergarten-Third Graders join their parents for the beginning of the 11:00 am service and are invited to leave for Children’s Worship mid-way through the service.
Please enter the east building through the first-floor lobby for nursery and Sunday School check-in.
How Long Does It Last?
Each worship service lasts approximately one hour.
What Should I Wear?
Most people will dress in business casual or casual clothes at the 9:00 am and more formally at the 11:00 am service.
What If I Need Special Assistance?
An accessible ramp is available near the Sanctuary entrance on 5th Street. The 4 1/2 Street entrance is also accessible to those with limited mobility and from there, a nearby elevator will take you to the Sanctuary and upper floor/classroom areas.
