The United Methodist Women's organization is open to all women and we invite you to join us.  You do not have to be a member of Centenary to belong to the UMW.

Purpose
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW sponsors many missionary families located in various countries: Chan and Keith Turman (Lithuania), Don and Ramona Turman (Indonesia), Kathy Wilson (Unalaska, Alaska), Glenn Rowley (Western Jurisdiction of the UMC), Charles and Patty Maddox (Haiti), Gordon and Ardell Graner (Bolivia), Nancy Osgood (United Methodist Committee on Relief {UMCOR} in the States.)

Centenary has 15 active circles which meet monthly for programs and fellowship.  You may choose from a morning, afternoon or evening circle to meet your needs.   A luncheon is held each quarter in Memorial Auditorium.  This is a time for all circle members to come together for fellowship and to learn more about each of the four missions areas:  Spiritual Growth, Social Action, Education/Interpretation for Mission Giving and Outreach and Membership Nurture and Outreach.

UMW Special Missions Recognition

It is time to start the nominating process for the Special Missions Recognition.  Criteria: The person nominated should be one who has been active in mission work, a contributing member of their circle and to United Methodist Women as a whole.  She should be a person that represents the purpose of the UMW.

If you would like to nominate a member of your circle for the Special Missions Recognition Award you can pick up a nomination form at the UMW mailboxes in the auditorium or from your circle leader.  They are also available for download below.
