SENIOR ADULT FELLOWSHIP

The mission of Centenary's Senior Adult Council is:

  1. To recognize the contribution of senior adults to the life of the church;
  2. To provide an intentional ministry both to senior adults and the entire congregation;
  3. To enable adults at all age levels to continue to serve Christ and His Church and have opportunities for companionship, worship, enrichment, recreation and travel;
  4. To exercise continual concern for, and action with, senior adults and adults of all age levels within this church and the greater Winston-Salem community.

The Senior Adult Council employs the Biblical mandate found in Ephesians 4:12 "to equip the saints for the work of ministry for the building up of the body of Christ." The SAC seeks to provide oversight and support for the caring ministries of Centenary.

Ongoing activities of the SAC include regularly scheduled weekly visitation to the homebound members located in five counties; the observance of Holy Communion upon request; seasonal floral gifts to the homebound on special occasions; birthday cards, gifts and floral arrangements as the homebound members special day arrives; mailings of large print bulletins for weekly service broadcast weekly on WSJS 600 AM radio and the monthly newsletter mailed to over 850 households.

Senior Adult Luncheons are held the second Thursday of each month at 12:00 noon.  Lunch is $6, and reservations must be made by the Monday before the luncheon.
