How do I get inside the church? |
Centenary has many doors, as you may have noticed! On Sundays, all doors are open. The main sanctuary entrance is on Fifth Street. A wheelchair accessible ramp is located just to the left of the main entrance.
The Children's Building is to the left of the sanctuary as you face the church. A street with an unusual number - 4½ Street runs directly behind the church, parallel to Fifth Street. All 4½ Street entrances are open on Sundays, too, including a wheelchair accessible entrance with easy access from the curb.
During the week, you should use the Auditorium entrance on 4½ Street. This door is in the middle of the block, across the street from the Centenary parking lot.

Where should I park? |
On Sundays, you may park just about anywhere! All parking lots surrounding the church are available, as is on-street parking.
During the week, you may park in one of Centenary's parking lots - the large lot across from the church on Fifth Street or the small lot behind the church on 4 ½ Street or in the metered spaces on the street (don't forget to feed the meter!). During the week, please observe all No Parking signs for the buildings near the church.

When are Centenary’s worship services? |
We hold traditional worship services at 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each Sunday in the Sanctuary. An informal worship service, called Morning Light, is held at 9 a.m. in the Dining Room.
Power Lunch is held in the Auditorium - accessible from 4 ½ Street - each Wednesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m., Power Lunch includes a tasty buffet at an affordable price ($6 per person), music, and a brief, faith-based meditation. This is a special time for members, downtown workers, as well as friends from the community to join together in fellowship, music, and worship.

How do I find out what’s going on at Centenary? |
If you read the Sunday worship service bulletin announcements and monthly newsletter, Through Centenary Windows (known simply as "The Windows"), you'll keep up with almost everything that is happening at Centenary. Of course, the website is another excellent tool for staying informed!
You'll find the latest edition of Through Centenary Windows and this week's bulletin posted here on the website, along with other calendar information. In addition, there are information tables at all entrances to the sanctuary, the gallery, the Auditorium entrance, and at several first floor locations which are loaded with information about upcoming events, programs, and activities.

Centenary seems like a very large church. Will I get lost in the crowd? |
Centenary is indeed a large church with over 3,800 members. However, the wonderful thing about our size is that we are able to offer ministries that appeal to people of all ages and with many different interests. The very best way to make a large church small is to get involved in a smaller group. Sunday school classes, Bible studies, mission groups, choirs, and committees are wonderful ways to make that happen. Contact Dr. Don Carlton at 724-6311, ext. 1352 or email him at DCarlton@centenary-ws.org for more information.

What is expected of members? |
At Centenary, as in other United Methodist Churches, members vow to support the church with their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service. We have designed our ministries to provide opportunities to fulfill these vows. We expect members to worship regularly, to continue to grow in faith by participating in study opportunities, to serve God by volunteering in the church, community, and world, and to give in proportion to their income.

What is Centenary’s mission? |
Our mission is to "Share the Word of God and the Love of Jesus Christ with All People." We live out this mission statement through our ministries of Worship, Education, Fellowship, and Missions.
